Carlo Ancelotti has heaped praise on Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe, claiming the Frenchman is still a different player after missing international duty.
Mbappe has endured a tumultuous past few weeks, starting with his refusal to play for the national team to focus on his recovery from a hamstring injury that has not gone down well with France.
Mbappe was then accuse of rape in Stockholm, which took place at the hotel where he was staying during the international break, which he has strongly denied.
Swedish media have link him to the incident, although no names have been officially link to the case, with the player and his legal representatives dismissing the allegations as slander.
It was report earlier this week that Real Madrid regret signing him amid concerns over his performances and conduct, but his coach was quick to downplay the potential impact of the controversy.
“He has already set his days off and everyone chooses what they want to do,” Ancelotti said when ask if Mbappe’s trip to the Swedish capital had been approve.
“I went to London for two days and didn’t ask for permission from anyone. I don’t have an agency to manage the players’ travel,”
“l speak to the player every day. I can comment on what I said before, but at the moment it is just speculation. I don’t see any impact on him (but) he is very eager to help the team.”
“He’s used the break to improve his physical condition. He’s fine, happy and looking forward to coming back tomorrow and being an important player for the team. The 15 days have helped him a lot because he’s a different player than before the break.”
“Tactically, his position has not changed from where he played in the last game. He can switch on the left wing with Vinicius, but we focus on Promotion ufabet physical training. This break has been good for him and I see him very well.”
